There’s been a bit over a year since I wrote “My thoughts on Gaza”. A lot has happened since then.
USA is now being led by a mad man, and Europe is forced to rearm itself, partly because the mad man demands it, and partly since we realize that USA is not there for us anymore.
Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. There are tons of articles about it. Like this.
A government causing genocide has lost its cause for existence. Just like Gaza did in 2023.
So once EU is rearmed, once Putin is beaten, and once EU has started to function (as in being more centralized, with less room for the opinions of random nations), EU should colonize Israel, and Palestine, and Gaza. Add and apply laws, equal to every person, instead of the constant, violent colonization of the West Bank that we have witnessed for decades.
Besides people getting back their stolen land, welfare should be given in equal sums per head, like a small basic income. And also another small income is given – depending one-to-one on the number of registered citizens, to super-small units, consisting of a few thousand people each. Funds for roads, education etc. Inside each such unit, we have democracy. The point with democracy in super-small units is that if the funds are embezzled, people can just move to another unit. A market competition between democracy units, you could say. People vote with their feet. Hence all the refugees we get from dictatorships (while the opposite is rare).
And once it seems to work well, the units can get united, making them larger and larger. Until we have municipalities.
In the meanwhile, laws and order are handled by the European Union. Treating everyone the same, regardless of their ethnicity. In one united country, with no walls nor hinders.
What about USA? Of course they need to agree, since they have their nuclear weapons up European asses. Luckily, even USAmericans read news. Here’s an opinion group for those that identify as USAmerican Jews. Even Trump is seeing that famine just erupted. A controlled famine. So he’d be happy to let EU do this thing, and pay for it. Which we’d do, since we’d receive the refugees anyway.
About refugees, there should be a policy set from the beginning for how to get citizenship in an EU country. Something similar to Canada’s point system.
And one day, a parliament can be created, directly voted from every citizen, with one vote being one vote (as it works in most European countries, and as it should work at the EU and USA level).
Maybe this is just a pipe dream with several ifs. But reality just forced me to adjust the opinion I gave 14 months ago, so I hope you enjoy the smoke.
