Missioning in Belém

The house above is an old house, meaning that it cannot be abolished and replaced with a new house. So what many owners do is simply let the time take it’s toll until the building

This is not the bird that shit on Gabriel.

I like tall buildings. Elevators are vertical public transport.

Some kind of court I think.
School class celebrating. Maybe not being a school class anymore.

Brazil nuts are called Para nuts in Swedish, since they are from Para, which is the place in which capital we are. I bought a kilo! So nutritious. And then I forgot them at Gabriel’s place :/

OMG, vultures! Quick, take a photo!
Oh, there are more vultures …

The Portuguese fort above was built in 1616 and, together with another fort, controlled the entrance to the Amazon river. It was never involved in any struggles between the colonial powers.

Because if they come, we shoot them!
And there is my ship! Or an identical. Shoot it! Too many Swedes here.

Around the fort we got the first buildings of Belém.

Lots of cultures were here. I’ll tell you about two of them.
The Marajoara culture was the most advanced in Brazil, making these inscribed things.
They liked masks.
They liked tangas.

Another culture consisted only of women, who drowned any men they gave birth too. They only used men for getting pregnant. The man then got a green frog as a present. Imagine going home to the subway in the morning with a green frog!

Then the Portuguese came. Very bad because of their illnesses and violence.
But it wasn’t good before. 10% died in fights. 100 times more dangerous than Caracas today.
And the smoking!
A painting to remember a massacre of American Indians.
Why live?
Art or window?
Art or third level wall?

Relaxed with numbing soup.

After taking this photo, my chair broke, and I fell on the ground! I held the soup in my hand perfectly though, not a drop missed! I’m very good at breaking chairs :/ And I was sober! For a few more minutes …

In the world’s 12th most murderous city, you drink during the day.
Lovely. Feeling nothing now.
Bulletproof car.
So many different bus companies that this image could have been in an Economics book.
I tried to negotiate so that I didn’t have to change bus at night. Failed.
