Woke up and was sick. I decided to take it very easy today. Just eat ramen and rest in my bed. I found a vegan ramen place. I had no expectations at all. I’ve had vegan ramen in Stockholm a few times, and it’s been quite a joke. The sauce hasn’t been the same, and they’re packed with mushrooms and other ingredients. It’s like they think that the ham and the egg are the main things, and really need to replace it. But they aren’t. The main things are the noodles and the sauce. The rest are just decorations of the perfection.

They had alcohol-free beer! Very, very tasty. Worth four euros? I don’t know. But very tasty.

But the noodles were … amazing. The sauce was so large, and so delicious. I was shocked. Was it a five? Mmm … noh. The noodles were a bit funny. I asked for noodles with peppers inside, which was delicious, but a little bit weird. But definitely a four! Spicy, yet a very Japanese sauce, packed with sesame seeds. A strong four. More delicious than any vegan noodles I’ve had elsewhere in the world, including Japan. Japan, you have been challenged! Nobody thought this would happen, when not even China or Taiwan could fix it. But Mexico City is the shit.

Nice, old house on my way home, with sticks to stop the wall from falling on your head.

The dorm is so empty now. I’m all alone in my 9-bed room. Here’s the kitchen.

But as sick and alone as I am, Mexico keeps me happy!

I went to the same noodle place for lunch. Asked for more garlic in the sauce, and for normal wheat noodles. The garlic was added as powder, and not squeezed inside. But this was definitely a five. The second one outside Japan (the first was in Düsseldorf). And this being vegan was quite a sensation! I’ve been a bit sad that vegan ramen wasn’t possible, from my Stockholm experiences. But it definitely is. I’ll eat here for every dish until I’m healthy again!

Condesa is a lovely place. I had no idea that Mexico City would be like this. So quiet and nice, and yet packed with restaurants and cafes. I saw so much poverty in Latin America, but not much in Mexico City. Maybe I’ve been to the wrong places. So many gays, bikes, foreigners, and the vegan ramen. A fantastic place! Perhaps a bit too many cars. But I like the car above! Well parked 🙂

I got some candy, slept, and later went out for a third round of vegan ramen, now with “habanero noodles”. The candy had made my stomach a bit alert though, so I had to run home after finishing it :p But it was also delicious!
